SwitchedHit ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website switchedhit.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By registering or using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Registration

When you create an account we collect your name and email address. Passwords are stored as a salted bcrypt hash — we never store your plaintext password.

1.2 Gameplay Data

We store data generated through your use of the game, including: team and player data, match results, lineup selections, training choices, auction bids, and league standings. This data is necessary to operate the game.

1.3 Usage & Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymised usage analytics (page views, feature interactions, session duration). No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog unless you are logged in, in which case a pseudonymous user identifier may be used. You can opt out via your browser's Do Not Track setting or by disabling JavaScript.

1.4 Advertising

We display banner advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and game progress.
To run daily match simulations and deliver results.
To send in-app notifications about match outcomes, auctions, and league events (controllable in your profile settings).
To respond to support requests and bug reports.
To improve the Service using aggregated, anonymised analytics.
To display advertisements that help fund the free-to-play Service.

3. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication sessions (NextAuth.js session tokens). We also use third-party cookies set by Google AdSense for advertising personalisation. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Neon (database hosting) — your data is stored on Neon's PostgreSQL infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region.
Vercel / hosting providers — for serving the application.
PostHog — anonymised analytics.
Google AdSense — advertising delivery.
Legal obligations — if required by law or to protect the safety of users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes. Anonymised gameplay statistics may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Object to or restrict certain processing.

SwitchedHit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
